From October 19 to 25, International Open Access Week 2026 will take place, an annual initiative to promote open access in academia and research. This year's theme is “The Cost of Knowledge”, which aims to raise the question of why access to and dissemination of knowledge, which is a human right, come at costs that increase every year. Why? Who benefits?
To raise awareness of open access and its benefits for publishing, the CRAI has organized several activities:
- Exhibition: Open Access and the university presses of the Xarxa Vives. From October 13 to 31, an exhibition will be on display in the lobby of the CRAI at the Catalunya Campus, featuring a selection of open-access publications that exemplify universities' commitment to transparent and shared research.
- Open Access Corners. Centers of interest at the different CRAIs on campus with the aim of spreading open access among the university community. They can be visited at the following CRAIs on campus (all week during opening hours):
- CRAI campus Bellissens
- CRAI campus Catalunya
- CRAI campus Sescelades
- CRAI campus Terres de l'Ebre
