Until October 30, the exhibition "Avui: 50 anys de periodisme, llengua i país" can be visited in the lobby of the CRAI at Campus Catalunya. The exhibition commemorates the 50th anniversary of the founding of the first Catalan-language newspaper published after the Spanish Civil War and highlights its contribution to the recovery and normalization of the Catalan language in journalism.
The exhibition offers a journey through 50 years of Catalan-language journalism and invites visitors to reflect on the role of the media in promoting the language and culture of Catalonia.
The opening ceremony will take place on October 13 at 12:00 p.m. and will feature journalist Jordi Panyella, curator of the exhibition, and Josep Pallarès, Rector of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. The event will also include José Antonio Moreno, Commissioner for Language Policy, Publications and CRAI, and Enric Castelló, Dean of the Faculty of Arts.
Earlier that day, at 10:30 a.m., the Aula Magna at Campus Catalunya will host a roundtable discussion on the exhibition and the early years of the newspaper Avui, moderated by Bernat López, professor in the URV Department of Communication Studies. The activity is open to the entire university community.
