Nearly 400 young people aged 6 to 16 will take part in the FIRST LEGO League tournaments in the Tarragona region, now in its 14th edition, which will be held on Saturday, March 1, at the Palau de Congressos de Tarragona.
The ETSE of URV organizes this program to promote the development of STEAM skills and competencies, encouraging young participants to apply them to improving people's quality of life. Each season, the FIRST® LEGO® League revolves around a different theme that guides teams in their research and model-building. This 2024/25 season, the challenge is called SubmergedSM, inviting participants to use creative thinking and LEGO® technology to explore the ocean’s layers and bring their discoveries and ideas to the surface as they navigate toward the future.
This year, 355 young participants will be organized into 48 teams from 18 educational centers in the region. Among them, 216 will compete in the FIRST LEGO League Challenge (ages 10 to 16), and 139 will take part in the FIRST LEGO League Explore (ages 6 to 9).
